After donation you receive a certificate — upload it in your cabinet. After verification it will appear in your profile.

Medical check

On the planned day come to the blood center with your ID. Check needs by phone.

Donation

Choose the nearest blood center and plan your donation. Register on the site to get reminders.

Step 4

Recovery

Make sure you have no contraindications to blood donation.

How to prepare for donation?

  • Have a light breakfast in the morning. Do not donate on an empty stomach.
  • No alcohol 48 hours before; no aspirin or painkillers 72 hours before.
  • Avoid fatty, fried, spicy, smoked food, dairy, eggs, nuts, bananas the day before and on the day.

What to do after donation?

  • Rest 10–15 minutes, have some tea. Keep the bandage on for 3–4 hours.
  • Drink more fluids for 1–2 days. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
  • Avoid heavy physical activity for 24 hours.

Contraindications to donation

Before each donation a doctor examines and interviews. Below are the main groups of contraindications; the final decision is always made by the blood service specialist.

Permanent contraindications

  • Severe heart and vascular disease, stroke, heart attack.
  • HIV, viral hepatitis B and C, syphilis and other serious infections.
  • Cancer, blood diseases.
  • Alcoholism, drug addiction, substance abuse.

Temporary contraindications

  • Acute colds, high temperature, exacerbation of chronic diseases.
  • Surgery, serious injuries and blood transfusions (deferral period set by doctor).
  • Recent vaccinations, certain medications, lack of sleep, heavy exertion.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Frequently asked questions

Citizen aged 18 or over, weight from 50 kg, no health contraindications. Free examination is carried out before first donation.

Men — no more than 5 times a year, women — no more than 4 times. At least 60 days between whole blood donations.

Blood collection takes about 10–15 minutes. Sensation is similar to a light prick. Rest and tea are recommended after donation.
